Financial Reporting Refresher

Course objectives

One problem with the typical technical update course is that it just covers the most recent changes and developments, perhaps limited to just what has changed in the previous 6 months. This course is designed for accountants who want, or need, to see the bigger complete picture. The course is designed to provide a one-stop, state-of-the-nation summary of what are the key elements that constitute UKGAAP including the most recent changes and developments.

By the end of the course, attendees will be able to return to work confident that there are no important requirements of which they are not aware.

Typical content

  • Current status of all UK FRS and the timing of recent and planned changes
  • Key disclosure requirements; what should and must be presented to shareholders and be filed at Companies House
  • Exemptions and concessions available for ‘small’, ‘medium’ and group companies
  • Practical problems and the current significant issues

Typical practical work

  • Current awareness and understanding quiz
  • Case studies on key topics including numerical examples and bookkeeping entries required where appropriate
  • Illustrations and examples of presentation and disclosures including correction of errors and proposals for improvements

Duration and guideline fee

Typically a 6 hour course – £1,700
